CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
CALLING FOR AMENDMENTS TO SECTION 1, ARTICLE IX OF THE CONSTITUTION BY INCREASING THE NUMBER OF COMMISSIONERS FROM SIX (6) TO NINE (9) OF THE COMMISION ON ELECTIONS.
WHEREAS, the unpeaceful and disorderly conduct of election had posed serious problems and issues in the credibility of its outcome;
WHEREAS, there had been allegations in the past of violence and fraud during each and every election period;
WHEREAS, there had been persistent clamor for an increase in the number of commissioners;
WHEREAS, considering the sanctity of elections are one of the fundamental requisites of popular government;
WHEREAS, this change will promote clean and peaceful elections, and thus bring about legitimate and deserving leaders in our country;
RESOLVED, that amendments, be made to Section 1, Article IX of the constitution by increasing the number of commissioner from six (6) to nine (9);
